Innovative sensing solutions for next generation equipment monitoring in transportation

The Transportation sector faces challenges of ever more demanding customers, more restrictive emission standards, increased needs for productivity and safety.

Sensors play a significant role in coping with these challenges, providing the information required to monitor and control equipment optimally to improve performance, consumption and security.

Wireless, passive and robust, SENSeOR’s SAW sensors can perform continuous measurements in in-engine applications (oil, electromagnetic fields), in inaccessible places, without any maintenance required and thus can dramatically improve the efficiency of transportation equipment.

Through real-time condition monitoring, SAW sensors enable better equipment utilization, performance optimization and security improvements while reducing costs.

“We have installed thousands of systems inside ship engines working in the toughest conditions and none of the sensors has ever failed.”
Mr A.J. Kongsberg Maritime

Renowned engine manufacturer Kongsberg Maritime has been using SENSeOR’s SAW sensors in an advanced sensing system for temperature monitoring inside ship engines since 2006. Thousands of sensors have been installed in various types of engines. These sensors have been failure and maintenance-free since then. The system has been proved to be dramatically more effective than other existing systems like oil mist detectors as it detects overheat much earlier, avoiding costly repairs and ship immobilizations. The system is ATEX certified and complies with all maritime regulations. More information on Kongsberg Maritime on their website.
